What should you check before choosing a phone repair shop?

Whichever shop you pick, including one of ours, run through these five checks first:

Get the full price before work starts. The quote should be the final number. If a shop can't commit to a figure after seeing the phone, or adds "diagnostic fees" at collection, walk.
Ask what grade of part is going in. "Original Grade", "OEM", "Grade AAA" and "aftermarket" mean different things at different shops. A good shop explains the difference and prices each option separately.
Get the warranty in writing. Anything from 30 to 100 days is normal in Singapore. What matters is that it's on the receipt, and that you know what voids it.
