Two things worth knowing before you read on. Laptop repairs are quoted after we look at the machine, because an Asus screen assembly varies enormously between a 14-inch VivoBook and a 16-inch ROG panel with a high refresh rate. Asus Service Centre in Singapore or an Independent Repair Shop: Which Do You Need?

The honest answer first. Citri Mobile has no tie to Asus, and there are times when the official channel is the better call. If your laptop or phone is inside its Asus warranty and the fault appeared on its own, with no drop, no crack and no spill, take it to the Asus service centre before paying anyone. It may cost you nothing. Asus runs its own service centre in Singapore and lists the current address and opening hours on its Singapore service centre page. You'll see it written service center too. Most machines that reach our counter fall outside that. A cracked screen isn't covered by any manufacturer warranty, at any age. Neither is liquid damage. And a battery worn down after three or four years of daily charging is wear, not a defect, so it rarely qualifies either. That's the gap we fill. Walk in without an appointment, get a free diagnosis and a nett quote on the spot, and for most phone jobs collect the same visit when your part is in stock. Laptop parts are ordered against your exact model, so those take longer and we'll tell you how long when we quote.

There's a third case people forget. Asus stops supporting older machines, and once a model is off official parts support the service centre can't help you even if you're willing to pay. An independent shop can still source a panel or a battery for a laptop that Asus has moved on from. If you've already been turned away, that's usually why, and it's worth asking us.

That last one is usually the display cable rather than the panel, which is a cheaper fix, and it's worth checking before anyone sells you a whole screen. Symptoms are a machine that dies the moment you unplug it, a charge that drops in steps rather than gradually, or Windows warning you to replace the battery. Asus Laptop Charging Port and DC Jack Repair

The port wears out before almost anything else on a laptop, because it takes the strain every time the cable gets tugged. Signs are a charger that only works at one angle, a connection that cuts in and out when you move the machine, or a laptop that stopped charging entirely while the charger tests fine on something else. Asus ROG Phone Battery Replacement, from $45

Gaming phones eat batteries. Long sessions at high refresh rates with the phone already warm is about the hardest life a lithium cell can have, and ROG Phone owners tend to notice the drop-off earlier than most. Asus ROG Phone Charging Port Repair, from $40

ROG Phones have a side-mounted port as well as the bottom one, and both wear. Before assuming the worst, look into the port with a torch. Pocket lint packs in until the cable can't seat, and that's a clean-out rather than a repair. If it's actually worn, or the solder joint has failed, we replace it. Liquid doesn't kill a device immediately, corrosion does, which is why the first hours matter more than the accident. Don't charge it, don't run it under rice, and get it opened up. How Do I Find My Asus Model Before a Repair?

Parts are ordered against the exact model, so this is the single most useful thing you can send us.

Asus laptop. Flip it over. The model number is printed on the sticker on the underside, and it looks like UX3402ZA or FA507NV rather than the marketing name on the box. If the sticker has rubbed off, open Command Prompt and type wmic csproduct get name, or check MyASUS, which shows the model on its System Information page. The serial number is on the same sticker and is worth sending too.

How Do I Know If My Asus Laptop Needs a Battery Replacement?

Windows will tell you, and it takes two minutes. Open Command Prompt and run powercfg /batteryreport. It writes an HTML file and prints where it saved it. Open that file and compare Design Capacity with Full Charge Capacity. If the full charge figure has fallen to around 70% of the design figure or below, the battery is worn and a replacement will make a real difference. The same report shows cycle count and a usage history, so you can see whether the drop happened gradually or suddenly.

One Asus-specific thing to check first. MyASUS has a Battery Health Charging setting with a Maximum Lifespan mode that deliberately stops charging at 60%, and Balanced mode which stops at 80%. People turn it on, forget, and later think the battery has failed because it never reaches 100%. Check that before buying a battery. If yours is capped by design, that's not a fault, and it's actually doing your battery a favour.

Common Asus Problems We Repair and What Causes Them

• Laptop won't power on, no lights at all. Usually the charger or the DC jack rather than the machine. Test the charger on another device before assuming the worst.
• Laptop powers on but the screen stays black. If you can hear it boot and the keyboard backlight comes on, the panel, the backlight or the display cable is the problem, not the computer.
• Screen flickers when the lid moves. A display cable chafing at the hinge. Cheaper than a panel and often missed.
• Battery drains while plugged in. The charger is underpowered for the machine or the port isn't making a proper connection. Common on USB-C ROG and ZenBook models charged from a phone brick.
• Trackpad sitting raised, or the laptop rocks on a flat table. A swollen battery pushing up from underneath. Stop charging it and bring it in.
• ROG Phone screen responds in some areas but not others. Digitiser damage, which can happen without visible cracking after a drop.
• Phone charges only at a certain cable angle. A worn charging port, or lint packed into it. We check for the cheap cause first.
• Device got wet and now behaves strangely. Corrosion spreading across the board. Time matters here more than anything else. Our guide on water damage covers the first steps.

Should You Repair or Replace Your Asus?

A rough rule that has served our customers well: if the repair costs less than about a third of what the same machine sells for used, repair it. A screen or a battery on a laptop that's otherwise healthy almost always clears that bar comfortably. Where it gets marginal is a board-level fault on an older laptop, and we'll tell you plainly when we think you're better off putting the money toward a replacement instead. We'd rather lose the job than take it on something not worth fixing.

On parts, we're straightforward about grade. Asus isn't Apple and there's no manufacturer parts programme for independent shops here, so what we fit is Original Grade or a quality equivalent, and we name the grade before you agree to anything. Anyone promising you factory parts for an out-of-warranty Asus is telling you a story.

A word on doing it yourself. Laptop battery and screen swaps look simple in a video and mostly aren't. Asus uses adhesive and ribbon cables that tear if you lift the wrong way, and a torn display cable turns a battery job into a much bigger one. Board-level work needs a microscope and hot air. If you've already opened it and something's gone wrong, bring it in anyway, we see plenty of those and we won't lecture you.

How Does Citri Mobile Asus Repair Work?
