How Do I Find My iPad Model Before a Repair?

Knowing your exact model gets you the right part and price first time. There are two quick ways to identify it:

1. Open Settings → General → About and look at Model Number. Tap it once and it changes to show a code starting with “A” (for example, A2696 or A2757).
2. Turn the iPad over. The small line of text on the back includes the same model identifier starting with “A”.

How Do I Know If My iPad Needs a Battery Replacement?

Unlike iPhone, iPadOS doesn’t show a battery health percentage, so we judge an iPad battery by behaviour and a bench test. Open Settings → Battery to see usage over the last 24 hours and 10 days; a battery that drops steeply, dies well before 0%, or won’t hold charge overnight is usually worn. Physical signs matter too: a screen or back that’s starting to lift is a swollen battery and should be replaced promptly.
