Samsung Screen Repair FAQs
- How much does it cost to repair a Samsung screen in Singapore?
- At Citri Mobile a Samsung screen repair costs $45–$630 depending on the model, nett. A Galaxy A54 is $110, a Galaxy S23 Ultra is $275, and the inner folding screen of a Z Fold 7 is $630. If only the glass is cracked, glass-only replacement costs less on the models we price it for.
- How much will it cost to repair a Samsung phone screen?
- Your exact model sets most of the price, and after that it's whether you need the glass or the whole screen. An older budget Galaxy starts at $45. A Galaxy S22 Ultra is $250 for the whole screen or $110 for the glass alone. Find your model in the price table above, and the free check tells you which job you need.
- Is it worth repairing a Samsung screen?
- Usually, yes. On most Galaxy phones the screen costs a fraction of a new phone, and if the repair is under about a third of what the phone is worth working, fix it. It's a closer call on an older budget Galaxy and on a Z Fold inner screen. If the battery is worn too, add a battery replacement (from $40) to the sum before you decide.
- How much is an S23 Ultra screen replacement?
- A full screen replacement on a Galaxy S23 Ultra is $275, nett. The S22 Ultra LCD replacement price, meaning the whole screen, is $250. If the picture and touch are perfect and only the glass is cracked, glass-only is $130 on the S23 Ultra and $110 on the S22 Ultra. The S22 Ultra also takes a Grade AAA screen at $145.
- Can you replace just the cracked glass on a Samsung?
- Yes, on the models we price it for, as long as the AMOLED underneath still works perfectly. We separate the cracked glass from the working screen and fit new glass, and on the big flagships it's roughly half the price of a full screen. Lines, blotches, a green line or dead touch mean the AMOLED is damaged, and then glass alone won't fix it. The free check tells you which you have.
- My Samsung screen is black but the phone still rings. Is it the screen?
- Usually. If calls come in and the phone vibrates but nothing shows, the phone is running and the screen has failed. Glass alone won't fix that, so it's the full screen. We confirm it with a free check before you pay for anything.
- How long does a Samsung screen replacement take?
- Usually the same day once the part for your model is here. Message us your model on WhatsApp before you come in and we'll confirm the screen is in stock, so the trip isn't wasted.
- Will I lose my photos and apps when the screen is replaced?
- No. A screen replacement doesn't touch the storage and nothing is wiped. Back up anyway, as you would before any repair. The one thing to redo is your fingerprint: after any screen replacement, register it again in Settings.
- Will my Samsung keep its IP68 rating after a screen repair?
- No one can promise it. IP68 on the Galaxy S and Note flagships is a factory rating for fresh water, it weakens as the seals age, and it can't be promised once a phone has been opened by anyone. Keep the phone away from water after any repair.
- Where can I get a Samsung screen repaired in Singapore?
- If your Galaxy is still under Samsung's warranty, start with Samsung's own service centre. Out of warranty, Citri Mobile repairs Samsung screens at four walk-in branches: People's Park Centre (Chinatown), Tampines, Yishun and Jurong Point, open 11am to 9pm daily. Every model has a published nett price, the check before we quote is free, and every screen carries a warranty of up to 100 days. Message us on WhatsApp at +65 9456 6455 with your model first so we can confirm the part is in stock.
Samsung Galaxy screen repair at Citri Mobile is priced per model, because a Galaxy screen is a different part on almost every phone. An older budget Galaxy starts at $45 and a Galaxy S24 Ultra is $260. Every Galaxy S, Note, A, M, Z Fold and Z Flip we carry has its own nett figure in the table above, and that figure is what you pay.
Most Samsung screen replacement jobs are the whole screen (what plenty of people still call a Samsung LCD replacement, even on an AMOLED phone), because on a modern Galaxy the glass, the touch layer and the AMOLED are bonded into one part. When only the top glass is cracked, though, many models have a cheaper glass-only job. The check that tells you which you need is free, and every screen we fit carries a warranty of up to 100 days.
Why Does a Samsung Screen Replacement Price Vary So Much by Model?
Samsung screen replacement prices run $45–$630 because the screen in a budget Galaxy A and the screen in a Z Fold have almost nothing in common. Two things set the figure: whether the screen is LCD or AMOLED, and what kind of AMOLED it is.
Here's how it steps up. Budget A phones such as the Galaxy A05s are $55. Many phones in the A0x and A1x lines use an LCD panel rather than AMOLED, and an LCD costs less to replace. The mid-range A phones are AMOLED, so a Galaxy A54 is $110. Galaxy M phones, the online versions of A-series models, are in the table too. A flat Galaxy S21 is $130. Then the big flagships: $230 for a Note 20 Ultra and $260 for an S24 Ultra. Foldables sit at the top, with their own section below.
Our guide to what it costs to fix a Samsung Galaxy screen in Singapore goes model by model if you want more than the table.
Glass Only or the Whole Screen: Which Samsung Screen Repair Do You Need?
If the top glass is cracked but the picture and touch underneath are perfect, you may only need new glass, and that's the cheaper job. We separate the cracked glass from the working AMOLED and replace the glass on its own. We call it Samsung Screen Glass Replacement, and on the big flagships it's roughly half the price of a full screen.
- Galaxy S23 Ultra: $130 for the glass, $275 for the whole screen.
- Galaxy S22 Ultra: $110 for the glass, $250 for the whole screen (the job most people call an S22 Ultra LCD replacement).
Glass-only is priced for most Galaxy S phones from the S8 to the S24, most Note phones from the Note 8 on, and a range of A models. The rest are on quote.
The catch: it only works while the AMOLED underneath is healthy. Any of the faults in the next section means the AMOLED itself is hurt, and then it's the full screen. Only a check under the glass settles it, and that check is free. Our guide to cracked glass or a broken screen has tests you can try at home first.
Black Screen, Green Line, Burn-In: Which Samsung Faults Need a New Screen?
Any fault you can see in the picture or feel in the touch, rather than cracks in the glass alone, means the AMOLED is damaged and the Samsung screen needs replacing.
- Black screen, but the phone still rings. Calls come in, it vibrates, nothing shows. We confirm it's the screen with the free check before you pay for anything.
- Blotches or lines that spread. Black or coloured patches that grow like ink, usually after a drop. The AMOLED has cracked under the glass and it keeps spreading, so back up while you can still see.
- A green line down the screen. A vertical green line, sometimes pink or white, that often turns up after a software update. It's widely reported on Galaxy S and Note models. The fault is in the screen itself, so resets won't clear it and a new screen will. Still in Samsung's warranty? Go to Samsung first. Our Samsung green line guide has the full story.
- Burn-in. A faint, permanent ghost of the keyboard, the navigation bar or the status icons, left on an AMOLED that showed the same image for a long time. The fix is a new screen.
- Touch dead in places, or flicker. A strip that ignores your finger, or a picture that flickers. The touch layer is bonded to the AMOLED, so it's the whole screen again.
Phone not switching on at all? That's a different fault. Start with what to do when your Samsung phone isn't working.
Why Do Curved Samsung Screens Cost More to Replace?
Curved-edge Samsung screens wrap the glass over the sides of the phone, so they crack at the edges more easily and cost more to replace than flat ones. The curved Galaxy phones include the S8, S9 and S10, the S21 Ultra and S22 Ultra, and the Note 8, Note 9 and Note 20 Ultra. The S21, S22, S23 and S24 base models are flat.
Compare two phones from the same year. A flat Galaxy S22 is $170; a curved S22 Ultra is $250. A flat S21 is $130; a curved S21 Ultra is $210.
How Are Z Fold and Z Flip Screens Repaired and Priced?
A Z Fold or Z Flip has two screens, the inner folding screen and the outer cover screen, and we price them separately. On a Z Flip the cover screen is the small one on the outside.
The inner folding screen is the most expensive Samsung repair we price: $630 on a Z Fold 7, $465 on a Z Fold 5 and $285 on a Z Flip 5. Every model is on the Samsung inner screen (internal LCD) replacement page. Cover screens cost far less, $75–$160 depending on the model, listed on the Samsung cover screen (external LCD) replacement page. The Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra and Flip 8 are on quote for now.
One thing to leave alone: the inner screen comes with a factory-fitted screen protector, and it shouldn't be peeled off.
Original Grade or Grade AAA for a Samsung Screen?
On nine Samsung models you can choose a lower-cost Grade AAA screen instead of Original Grade, and on every one of them Grade AAA is the cheaper option. The nine are the S22 Ultra, S22 Plus, S21 Ultra, S21 Plus, S20 Ultra, S20 Plus, Note 10 Plus, Note 9 and Note 8. Every other Galaxy screen is Original Grade.
On an S22 Ultra that's $145 at Grade AAA against $250 at Original Grade. Original Grade is our higher grade and the one we fit unless you ask otherwise. Both carry our warranty, and we tell you which grade is going in before we start. The nine models and their prices are on the Samsung Grade AAA screen repair page.
What Happens to Your Fingerprint, Data and IP68 After a New Samsung Screen?
Your data stays where it is, but you'll need to register your fingerprint again. Most Galaxy S flagships since the S10 (the S10e is the exception) and many A-series phones read it through the screen; the Z Fold and Z Flip use the side button. After any screen replacement, add your fingerprint again in Settings. Do it at the counter, so if anything's off we can look at it there and then.
Screen jobs don't touch the storage, so nothing is wiped. Back up anyway, as you would before any repair.
And water. The Galaxy S and Note flagships from the S7 onward carry a factory IP68 rating, but no one can promise that rating once a phone has been opened, us included. Treat the phone as if it never had one.
Fix Your Samsung Phone Screen or Replace the Phone?
Fix the screen when it costs well under what the phone is worth, and on most Galaxy phones it does. A rough line: if the screen is less than about a third of the phone's working value, repair it and keep the phone.
That makes most S, Note and mid-range A repairs an easy call. It gets closer on an older budget Galaxy, where the screen can be a big slice of what the phone would sell for. On a Z Fold inner screen the figure is high enough that you're really deciding about the phone. We'll give you the real number and you decide.
Then think about the battery. If the Galaxy no longer lasts a day, or shuts down at 20 to 30%, add a Samsung battery replacement (from $40) to the sum. Our guide to checking Samsung battery health shows how to read the battery first.
Samsung Screen Repair in Singapore: Service Centre or Independent Shop?
If your Galaxy is still under Samsung's warranty, take it to Samsung's own service centre first, especially for a screen that failed on its own, like a green line. Out of warranty you're paying wherever you go, and a published nett price for every model makes the comparison easy.
Citri Mobile is an independent repair shop, not part of Samsung. Here you get a free check, a nett price per model in the table above, Original Grade screens (Grade AAA on nine models) and a warranty of up to 100 days. Not sure where your phone stands? Our guide to checking your Samsung warranty in Singapore shows how to find the end date.
