Samsung Screen Glass Replacement FAQs
- How much does Samsung screen glass replacement cost in Singapore?
- Samsung glass replacement runs $50–$130 nett on the 52 Galaxy models we price it for, and the figure for your model is in the table above. An S24 Ultra is $130, a Note 20 Ultra $110 and an A50 $75. Other Galaxy models are on quote.
- Is replacing only the glass cheaper than replacing the whole Samsung screen?
- Yes, on the models we price it for. On the big flagships it's roughly half: a Note 20 Ultra is $110 for the glass against $230 for the full screen. On the budget A phones the two prices sit close together, so compare both before you decide.
- Can you replace just the glass if my Samsung screen has a green line or a black spot?
- No. A green line, a black or coloured blotch, flicker or dead touch means the AMOLED under the glass is damaged, and new glass won't change that. Those need a full Samsung screen repair, priced per model on its own page.
- Will I lose my data when the glass is replaced?
- No. A glass replacement doesn't touch the phone's storage, so nothing is wiped and your photos and chats stay where they are. Back up anyway if it's been a while.
- Will my Galaxy keep its IP68 rating after the glass is replaced?
- We can't promise it, and no repair shop honestly can. IP68 on the Galaxy S and Note flagships is a factory rating for fresh water. It weakens as the seals age, and it doesn't survive a drop or a phone being opened. So keep the phone out of the pool and the shower.
- Can you replace just the glass on a Galaxy Z Fold or Z Flip?
- On a foldable, glass-only is quoted rather than priced, so message us the model first. Both screens on a Z Fold or Z Flip also have their own repairs and prices: the inner folding screen and the cover screen. Leave the factory-fitted protector on the inner screen alone. It isn't meant to be peeled off.
- Where can I get Samsung glass replacement in Singapore?
- At any of our four branches: People's Park Centre in Chinatown, Tampines, Yishun and Jurong Point, open 11am to 9pm daily. Each Galaxy model's nett price is published on this page and the check under the glass is free. The job carries a warranty of up to 100 days. No appointment is needed, but message us first with your model so we can confirm the glass is in stock. If your phone is still under Samsung's warranty, Samsung's own service centre is the first stop for warranty work.
Samsung screen glass replacement is for one situation: the top glass on your Galaxy is cracked, but the picture and touch underneath are perfect. We separate the cracked glass from the working AMOLED and replace the glass on its own. On the big flagships that costs roughly half the full screen: $130 against $260 on an S24 Ultra, and $130 against $275 on an S23 Ultra. We price it on 52 Galaxy models in the table above and quote the rest. But the moment you see a black or coloured blotch, a line, flicker or a patch that ignores your finger, glass alone won't fix it. That needs the full screen, and its price is on our Samsung screen repair page.
Not sure which you've got? The check under the glass is free, and every price here is nett.
Can You Replace Samsung Screen Glass Only?
Yes, when your Samsung has a cracked screen and the damage is in the glass only. Open a plain white image, then a black one, and run a finger over the whole screen, edges included.
Glass only will do the job when:
- The cracks sit on top of a clean picture, with no marks or colour showing through them.
- Touch works everywhere, right up to the edges and straight over the cracks.
You need the full screen when you see:
- A black or coloured blotch, often spreading like ink.
- A green, pink or white line from top to bottom: the Galaxy green line fault, which often turns up after a software update.
- Flicker.
- A strip or corner that won't respond to touch.
- A black screen while the phone still rings.
- A faint ghost of the keyboard or navigation bar that never goes away. That's burn-in.
Any one of those means the AMOLED itself is hurt. Put new glass over a damaged AMOLED and you've paid for a clearer view of the same fault.
How Do You Know If It's the Glass or the AMOLED?
A free check under the glass tells you, before we quote anything. We look at the AMOLED around every crack and test touch across the whole screen. If it needs the full screen, you get that price instead and you decide.
We check rather than guess because a knock can hurt the AMOLED under a crack without showing straight away. A dot today can be a blotch next week. Our guide to cracked glass or a broken screen has four checks you can run at home first, including the screenshot test that separates a screen fault from a board fault.
Which Galaxy Models Can Have Just the Glass Replaced?
Fifty-two of them, each with its price in the table above. By family:
- Galaxy S: the S7 Edge, the S8 and S9 phones, the S10e, S10 and S10 Plus, and every S20, S21, S22, S23 and S24 base, Plus and Ultra, plus the S20 FE and S21 FE.
- Galaxy Note: the Note 5, Note 8, Note 9, Note 10 and Note 10 Plus, Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra.
- Galaxy A: the A10 and A11, the A30 to A35, the A40 to A42, the A50 and A51, and the A70 and A80.
- On quote: the rest, including the S23 FE and S24 FE, the S25 and S26 range, the A52 to A55, the M series and the foldables. Send us the model and we'll say whether glass-only makes sense on it.
On the budget A phones the gap is small, because the whole screen is cheap to begin with: an A10 is $50 for the glass and $55 for the full screen. And a cracked back is a different repair, Samsung back glass replacement.
What Does the Job Involve on a Curved or Flat Galaxy?
On every Galaxy the screen comes out, the cracked glass is separated from the AMOLED, new glass is bonded on, and the screen goes back in and gets tested. What changes is the shape of the glass.
Curved-edge Galaxy phones wrap the glass over the sides: the S8 and S9 phones, the S10 and S10 Plus, the S21 Ultra and S22 Ultra, and the Note 8 through to the Note 20 Ultra. They crack at the edges more easily, and the separation takes more care along those edges. The glass costs more than on the flat phone from the same year, too: $100 on an S21 Ultra against $85 on an S21.
Flat Galaxy phones, like the S21, S22, S23 and S24 base models, have a flat sheet of glass. The simpler job of the two.
Glass jobs are usually done the same day once the glass for your model is here. Walk in to any of our four branches without an appointment, but message us first with your model so we can confirm the glass is in stock.
What About the In-Screen Fingerprint After a Glass Replacement?
Register your fingerprint again in Settings, as after any Galaxy screen job. Most Galaxy S flagships since the S10 (the S10e excepted) and many A phones read it through the screen, so the reader now sits under new glass. Try it at the counter before you leave.
