Apple Watch Battery Replacement in Singapore

A watch that used to last a day and a half now needs the charger by dinner. That's a worn battery, and on an Apple Watch it's one of the cheaper repairs we do. We change Apple Watch batteries at four branches in Singapore, every model is priced in the table above, and most are done while you wait.

How Do You Know Your Apple Watch Battery Needs Replacing?

Check the number first. On the watch, open Settings, then Battery, then Battery Health, and read Maximum Capacity. Apple treats 80% as the point where a battery is worn, and below it you'll feel the difference: shorter days, a watch that switches off at 20 or 30%, or one that dies halfway through a workout. If the watch won't charge at all, the battery is only one suspect. A dirty charger, or grime on the back of the watch, is more common. Our Apple Watch not charging guide takes you through the checks.

Why Is My Apple Watch Screen Lifting Off?

Because the battery underneath has swollen. A failing cell gives off gas, the pouch puffs up, and the only way it can push is outward, so the display tilts away from the case at one edge. Sometimes it pops right out while the watch still works. Swelling doesn't go back down.

Take the watch off the charger, stop wearing it and bring it in. Don't press the screen back into place. If it keeps lifting, the display cable tears, and a $50 battery job becomes a battery and an Apple Watch screen replacement. Apple has run service programmes for swelling on some older models, so if yours might be covered, ask Apple first.

How Long Does an Apple Watch Battery Replacement Take?

Usually around an hour once we start. There's no battery door on an Apple Watch. The display has to be warmed and lifted to reach the battery, and the adhesive runs right to the curved edge, so it comes off slowly. Once the new battery is in, we test charging, touch, the Digital Crown and the side button, then reseal the display with fresh adhesive. If your watch needs longer, we'll tell you when we quote.

A resealed watch is fine for everyday wear, rain and washing your hands. We don't restore Apple's factory water-resistance rating, and no shop outside Apple can, so if you swim with your watch, ask us about it before the repair.

Is It Worth Replacing an Apple Watch Battery?

On a Series 6 or later, an SE 2 or an Ultra, yes. A new battery gives back the full day the watch had when it was new, for a small fraction of a new watch. On a Series 4, Series 5 or the first SE it's still usually worth it at this price, as long as the screen and buttons are fine. On a Series 3 or older it's a closer call: those watches stopped getting watchOS updates years ago and apps are dropping support, and we'll say so before you spend money on one.

If your watch has AppleCare+, Apple replaces a battery that has worn below 80% at no charge, so check your cover first. Out of warranty, Apple's own fees are on its Apple Watch service page.
