To check an Apple warranty in Singapore, go to checkcoverage.apple.com and enter your serial number. It tells you three things: whether your device is still covered, whether you have AppleCare+, and the exact expiry date. It takes about a minute and works for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. On the device itself, the same information sits in Settings under General, then About.

Where do I find my Apple serial number?

Four ways, depending on what state the device is in.

  • On an iPhone or iPad: Settings, then General, then About. Scroll to Serial Number. Tap and hold to copy it.
  • On a Mac: Apple menu, then About This Mac. The serial is on the first screen.
  • On an Apple Watch: Settings, then General, then About. Or check the Watch app on your paired iPhone.
  • If the device won't turn on: the serial is printed on the original box, on the SIM tray of older iPhones, and on the back casing of a Mac. It's also on your purchase receipt and in your Apple Account at appleid.apple.com under Devices.

That last one is worth knowing. A dead phone is exactly when you need the warranty status, and it's exactly when you can't open Settings. Signing into your Apple Account on any browser lists every device tied to it, serial numbers included.

What does the coverage check actually tell you?

You'll see one of a few results, and the wording matters.

What it saysWhat it means
Limited Warranty until [date]The standard one-year Apple warranty is still running. Manufacturing faults are covered. Accidental damage is not.
AppleCare+ until [date]You bought the extension. Accidental damage is covered, but you still pay a service fee per incident.
ExpiredNo Apple coverage. Any repair is out of pocket, whether you go to Apple or anywhere else.
Repairs and Service Coverage: ActiveUsually means you're inside the 90-day cover on a previous repair, not the original warranty.
"We're unable to complete your request"Wrong serial, or the device was never registered. Re-check the number before assuming the worst.

One thing the page won't tell you is whether your device was bought in Singapore. Apple's standard warranty is honoured internationally for most products, but service in Singapore can still be refused if the model was never sold here. Grey-import iPhones are the common case. If you bought yours from a reseller rather than Apple or a telco, that's worth checking before you count on warranty service.

What does the standard Apple warranty cover?

One year from purchase, and it covers manufacturing defects only. A battery that fails to hold charge below 80% capacity within the year, a screen that develops dead pixels on its own, a button that stops responding without being dropped.

It does not cover: cracked screens, bent frames, liquid damage, anything you dropped, and normal battery wear. That last one catches people out. A battery at 82% after eleven months is working as designed, not failing.

What does AppleCare+ add?

AppleCare+ extends the term and adds accidental damage cover, but it isn't free repair. You pay a service fee each time, and Apple publishes those fees. For iPhone in Singapore, screen damage carries a S$42 fee and other accidental damage S$148 under AppleCare+, at the time of writing. Check Apple's own iPhone repair page for the current figures, since they change.

The comparison people actually want is what those numbers look like against paying independently. We wrote that out in full in AppleCare+ vs walk-in repair in Singapore, including where AppleCare+ genuinely wins.

My warranty has expired. What now?

You have three real options, and the right one depends on the fault.

Apple's out-of-warranty service. Fixed published pricing, Apple's own parts, and for board-level faults Apple usually replaces the whole device rather than repairing it. Good for newer devices under one of Apple's own service programmes.

An independent repairer. Usually cheaper, and for some faults it's the only route that repairs rather than replaces. We're an Apple Independent Repair Provider, so we can fit genuine Apple parts for eligible iPhone repairs under the Apple IRP programme. For Mac, iPad and Apple Watch we use Original Grade parts, and we say which grade you're getting before you agree to anything.

Trade it in. On an older device where the repair approaches what the phone is worth, this is sometimes the honest answer, and we'll tell you when we think it is.

Current out-of-warranty figures at our counter: iPhone battery from $25, iPhone screen from $35, iPad screen from $55. Prices are nett, so the figure we quote after diagnosis is what you pay when you collect. Full lists sit on the iPhone repair page and the iPad repair page.

Does a third-party repair void my Apple warranty?

Not automatically, and the detail matters enough that we gave it its own guide. The short version: Apple can decline warranty service on the specific part that was replaced or damaged by the repair, but an unrelated fault elsewhere in the device stays covered. If your device is still inside its warranty and the fault looks like a manufacturing defect, go to Apple first. We'll tell you that at the counter rather than take the job.

What we see at the counter

The most common warranty conversation we have is about cracked screens. People arrive certain the 30-100 days warranty covers it, because it feels like the phone should not have broken from that height. It doesn't cover it, and no amount of arguing at an Apple Store changes that. AppleCare+ would have.

The second most common is a battery at 80-something percent. Apple's threshold for a warranty battery replacement is below 80% within the coverage period. At 81% you're paying, whoever does it. Checking your own battery health first (Settings, Battery, Battery Health) saves a trip.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check my Apple warranty without the device?
Sign in at appleid.apple.com and open Devices. Every device tied to your Apple Account is listed with its serial number, which you can then run through checkcoverage.apple.com. The serial is also on the original box and your receipt.
How long is the standard Apple warranty in Singapore?
One year from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing defects. Accidental damage, liquid damage and normal battery wear are excluded unless you have AppleCare+.
Does Apple warranty cover a cracked screen?
No. The standard 30-100 days warranty covers manufacturing faults, not accidental damage. AppleCare+ covers screen damage but charges a per-incident service fee.
Is my Apple warranty valid in Singapore if I bought the device overseas?
Apple's standard warranty is honoured internationally for most products, but service in Singapore can be refused for models never sold here. If you bought from a grey-market reseller, confirm before relying on it.
What can I do if my Apple warranty has expired?
Apple's out-of-warranty service, an independent repairer, or trade-in. Independent repair is usually cheaper and can repair some board-level faults Apple would handle by replacing the device. iPhone battery replacement at Citri Mobile starts from $25.
Does AppleCare+ cover water damage?
Yes, as accidental damage, subject to the per-incident service fee. Without AppleCare+, liquid damage is not covered by the standard warranty at all.
