What makes one iPhone screen cost more than another?
Two iPhones can be priced very differently. A few things decide where yours lands:
- The screen type. iPhones up to the 11 mostly use LCD screens, which are cheaper to replace. From the iPhone 12 on, every model uses OLED (a sharper, pricier screen), so the part costs more.
- Pro and Pro Max models. These have a faster, higher-end screen, so their parts sit at the top of the table.
- The grade you pick. An original-grade screen is the value choice. A genuine Apple part costs more because the part itself is dearer.
- Any extra damage. If the drop also bent the frame or knocked out Face ID, that adds a bit to the job.
Original-grade, genuine Apple, or Grade AAA: which screen should you get?
A screen replacement swaps the whole front panel, not just the cracked glass on top. We keep a few options so you can match the screen to your budget:
- Original-grade screen. A high-quality screen that brings back full brightness, colour and touch, at the lowest price. This is what most people go with.
- Genuine Apple display. A real Apple part, for the iPhone 13 and newer. Pick this if you want exactly what came in the phone, including full True Tone. It costs more.
- Grade AAA. A budget screen on some models, for when price is the main thing.

Why are some iPhone screens so cheap?
If you've seen a screen advertised for $40–50 on a newer iPhone, be careful. That price usually means a low-grade panel: dimmer, with washed-out colour, laggy touch, and no True Tone. Many of them fail or start ghosting within a few weeks, so you end up paying twice.
Our original-grade screens cost a bit more because the panel is genuinely good, and every one is backed by a 30-100 days warranty — longer than the usual 3-month cover most shops give. If a price looks too good to be true, ask what grade of screen it is before you commit.
Can I replace the screen myself?
You can buy a DIY kit, but for most people it isn't worth it. iPhone screens are glued down and easy to crack a second time, and the display has to be recalibrated for True Tone and touch to work properly. Get it slightly wrong and you can lose Face ID or end up with a screen that ghosts. A professional repair takes about half an hour, keeps your data, and comes with a warranty — for the price difference, it's usually the safer call.
How do you know if your screen actually needs replacing?
Book a screen replacement if you see any of these:
- Cracked or shattered glass, even if the touch still works. Cracks spread, and they let in dust and water.
- Green or pink lines, or a flickering screen. Usually a dying screen or a loose connector inside.
- Black patches, or a spot where the touch has stopped responding.
- The screen stays black, but the phone still rings or buzzes.

Glass only, or the whole screen?
If just the outer glass is cracked and the display underneath still works fine, glass-only refurbishing can save you a bit on the pricier models. It does take longer, though. The moment you see lines, black spots, or dead touch, the screen itself is gone, and you need the full panel. That's what the prices above cover.
Screen repair, or a new phone?
For almost any iPhone, a repair costs a small slice of a new one. A new handset is S$1,000 or more. Most screen repairs are under S$150 with an original-grade screen, and you keep everything on your phone. Going to Apple instead usually means an appointment and a wait, and for older models they may swap out the whole device.
